Some men feel that earrings add a touch of style and personality to their look, while others simply enjoy the way they feel. There are a few things to keep in mind, however, before diving into the world of men’s earrings. For starters, it’s important to choose the right size and style of earring. With these guidelines in mind, there’s no reason why men can’t rock earrings with confidence.
WHAT TYPE OF STARTER EARRINGS TO WEAR FOR YOUR FIRST PIERCING
Once your ears have completely healed, you can start playing around with the many different types of starter earrings available for fully healed ears. For your first piercing, we advise that you wear only tiny or light stud earrings. Light stud earrings with posts will keep your piercing open as the tissue adjusts to the new shape - a tiny hole in the skin - and seasons itself to it without causing discomfort.
Moreover, small studs are much less likely to catch on objects and get ripped out. They’re also more comfortable to sleep in (which is important while your piercing is still healing).
HOW TO REMOVE STARTER EARRINGS
You should wear your starting earrings for at least six weeks before taking them off; however, this advice is not a one-size-fits-all prescription. Instead, everything is dependent on how fast your piercings heal. Some people heal rapidly and can switch to another pair of earrings within two to three weeks, but this is not the case for most.
Healing time also depends on the location of your piercings. Some piercings take significantly longer to heal than others; for instance, piercings on the cartilages of the ears take much longer to heal, while others areas heal much quicker.
WHAT KIND OF EARRINGS CAN YOU WEAR AFTER A NEW PIERCING HEALS?
We recommend light stud earrings for newly healed piercings. The wound is technically healed when a piercing is in the seasoning phase. You may, however, remain sensitive to sudden changes in the earring metal you're wearing.
Wearing different types of earrings is the only real way to find out what you are allergic to. You can wear any metal, from sterling silver to stainless steel, as long as you are not allergic to it.
Keep in mind that not all stainless steel jewelry is surgical-grade stainless steel. Purity levels exist for all industrial metals. If you are only familiar with one type of metal, such as surgical-grade stainless steel, we recommend that you purchase jewelry made of that metal only. Or else, if you choose metal you don't have experience wearing, you can accidentally suffer an allergic reaction.
Earrings can make a man appear more appealing to women in a variety of ways. Earrings can be worn by men to demonstrate their confidence, personality, or fashion sense, regardless of whether they are worn to make them appear attractive. For starters, it’s important to choose the right size and style of earring. Small, tasteful studs are generally the best option for men. Avoid anything too flashy or dangly, as this can come across as tacky. It’s also important to make sure that the earrings you choose complement the rest of your outfit.
